White Plains, NY (2005-09-21) With one bold stroke, the partnership of Donald J. Trump and Louis R. Cappelli to develop high-rise luxury living has transformed downtown White Plains into one of the hottest downtown addresses in the country.

Trump Tower, the first luxury high-rise residential tower in Westchester County, opened tonight with the kind of fanfare normally reserved for Manhattan or Hollywood. More than 700 people celebrated the 35-story luxury tower's grand opening. Hosts for the evening were none other than Donald Trump and Louis Cappelli, President of Cappelli Enterprises. In attendance were all three winners of Mr. Trump's The Apprentice program (WNBC-TV), as well as a broad cross-section of top business and community leaders, and elected officials from throughout the region.

All proceeds from the evening's gala were given to White Plains Hospital Center.

This is an exciting moment for all of us involved in this project. I want to thank everybody who helped to open Westchester's first luxury high-rise condominium, Mr. Cappelli said. In less than a year, Trump Tower virtually sold out with only a handful of apartments still remaining. It's truly a phenomenon and a triumph for White Plains and firmly establishes downtown White Plains as one of the nation's top residential markets.

The tallest building between NYC and Albany, Trump Tower offers commanding views of the Manhattan skyline, Long Island Sound and the wooded hills of Westchester and the Hudson River Valley. Managed by Trump Management, the 212-unit luxury high-rise features an incomparable amenities package including a Trump Club Lounge, business center, concierge service and 24-hour valet parking.

Mr. Trump said: I was confident when we began that we would do well, and am particularly gratified that the outstanding sales pace justified my initial optimism. The City of White Plains is certainly making its mark among the most dynamic of the small cities across the nation. I am proud that Trump Tower is serving as the centerpiece of the city's renaissance. It is clear that Westchester can and will support luxury high-rise living.

Based on the success of Trump Tower in White Plains, the two developers have broken ground on Trump Plaza in New Rochelle. Like Trump Tower, Trump Plaza will be one of the tallest buildings in Westchester. It will rise more than 30 stories and offer superb views of Long Island Sound. The tower will be comprised of 181 residences -- 51 with one-bedroom, 101 with two-bedrooms and 29 with three-bedrooms. Private parking for the residences will be provided on-site. In addition, the project will be linked to New Roc City and its new modern parking garage by an enclosed pedestrian bridge.

The gala, whose signature style was designed by celebrity party planner David Tutera, proved to be a dazzling evening. Held beneath a colorful canopy of Chinese lanterns under an 11,000 square-foot tent on the 9th floor of Trump Tower, guests enjoyed music, cocktails and fine cuisine from 17 of the area's finest restaurants. Establishments generously donating food included Aberdeen, An American Bistro, Bengal Tiger, Blue Restaurant, Cafe Meze, Caperberry Events, Great American Barbeque Co., Legal Sea Foods, Magnificent Edibles, Mulino's Pacifico, Plates, Sonora, Tango Grill, Trotter's Restaurant and Lounge, Whole Foods and Zanaro's Italian Restaurants.

Guests bid on fabulous silent and live auction prizesjewelry, furs, couture fashions, rare wines and amazing excursions. All monies raised will go towards the expansion of the White Plains Hospital Center Emergency Department, the busiest in Westchester, as well as Cardiac Care and the Hospital's Designated Stroke Center, one of only two in New York State.

It's really about sustaining the growth of White Plains Hospital Center, said White Plains Mayor Joseph M. Delfino. It's such an outstanding institution that consistently delivers compassionate care for everyone in White Plains and the greater Westchester area. I can't imagine a more deserving beneficiary to herald the opening of Trump Tower.

A total of five apartments were on display. Top design professionals Costas Kondylis Interiors, Gary J. Paul and Darren Henault Interiors each decorated a penthouse apartment, and Joseph R. Stabile of Briarcliff Manor designed the interiors for two additional apartments with striking views on the 22nd floor that will be available for sale.
